Car buyer's broker · Vancouver, BC

A car buyer's broker for Vancouver who takes the dealership off your calendar.

Buying a vehicle in Vancouver usually means giving up a Saturday, or three, to showrooms. ClearCut Auto Inc. is a licensed, fee-only car buyer's broker: I find the vehicle, take your specification to stores across the whole region, negotiate the price, and on the managed packages I handle the dealership in person, wherever it is. I spent nearly a decade inside BC dealerships, from the sales floor to the finance office, and I have no loyalty to any store. Vancouver, the North Shore, Burnaby, Richmond: the same phone call, the same fee.

A car buyer's broker represents the buyer, not the dealership. In British Columbia that is a licensed activity: the broker-agent works for the person buying the vehicle, sources and negotiates on their behalf, and takes no payment from the selling side.

ClearCut Auto Inc. holds VSA Broker-Agent Licence B70016 and is fee-only. You pay a flat fee, from $250 to $5,000 plus GST depending on the package; no dealership or lender pays ClearCut anything. The licence covers all of British Columbia, and for Concierge and Reserve I come to you and to the dealership, anywhere in the region.

Buying a car in Vancouver

Why buying in Vancouver rewards someone who shops the whole region.

Four things about the Vancouver market that a buyer sitting in one showroom never sees.

01 · The territory

Your vehicle is for sale in five cities, not one.

Most brands sold in Vancouver have franchised stores in Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey and Langley as well, all within a forty-minute drive. Each store carries its own overhead, its own inventory pressure and its own number. A buyer who only walks into the closest one negotiates against a single price.

Take one specification to the whole region, then decide.
02 · The tax tiers

In Vancouver the tax tiers matter more, and so does the all-in number.

BC PST climbs with the vehicle price and a federal luxury tax may apply above the federal threshold, so a premium vehicle is taxed at a higher percentage, not just a higher amount. Two quotes a few thousand apart on the sticker can land further apart than that once taxes are applied. Every price in our free tools is shown all-in for BC.

Compare all-in numbers, never stickers.
03 · In person, wherever it is

On the managed packages, I am at the dealership.

For ClearCut Concierge and ClearCut Reserve I attend in person: the finance office, the products, the paperwork, whichever store ends up with the right vehicle at the right number. Advisory packages are by phone, text or email, whichever suits you.

You never have to sit across from a salesperson. That is the point.
04 · The delivery

Reserve brings the vehicle to your door.

ClearCut Reserve is the fully managed package plus delivery: sourced, negotiated, the finance office and paperwork handled, and the vehicle delivered to you in Vancouver. No showroom, no Saturday. It is offered privately to a limited number of clients, and the full scope is walked through with you personally.

Ask about Reserve on the call if you want the dealership out of the picture entirely.

Step one

A free call.

We go over the vehicle, or the shortlist, what you want out of it and which package fits. No charge, no obligation, and I will tell you honestly what I think I can do before you pay anything.

Step two

Sign and pay from your phone.

The Client Service Agreement is sent and signed through DocuSign and the fee is paid through Stripe. Work starts the day both are done.

Step three

It gets handled.

Coaching, negotiation or the whole thing through the finance office, depending on the package. On Concierge and Reserve, I am the one at the dealership, wherever in the region it is.

Common questions

Buying with a broker in Vancouver.

Do you come to the dealership with me in Vancouver?

For ClearCut Concierge and ClearCut Reserve, yes: I handle the dealership in person, through the finance office and the paperwork, at whichever store the vehicle ends up coming from. For Negotiation and Complete, the purchase price is negotiated directly with the dealership on your behalf and you take over at the finance office. Clarity, Strategy and Discovery are advisory packages delivered by phone, text or email, whichever suits you.

Do you have to buy from a Vancouver dealership?

No. The vehicle comes from whichever store in the region has the right unit at the right all-in number, which is often not the closest one. Where it is bought does not change where it is registered, insured or serviced.

Which areas do you cover?

Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond and New Westminster on this page, and the rest of the Lower Mainland the same way. ClearCut Auto Inc. is based in South Surrey and licensed for all of British Columbia; for Concierge and Reserve, distance is not a factor.

What does a car buyer's broker cost?

A flat fee, from $250 to $5,000 plus GST depending on the package, paid through Stripe. ClearCut Auto Inc. receives nothing from any dealership or lender. The fee is for the representation, never for the vehicle itself.

Are you licensed?

Yes. ClearCut Auto Inc. holds VSA Broker-Agent Licence B70016 from the Vehicle Sales Authority of British Columbia and represents buyers only.

Do you work with new and used vehicles?

Both. The package decides the scope, not the vehicle. Every price in the free tools on this site is shown all-in for BC, with GST, PST and any federal luxury tax already applied.
